How to choose the right sized Chinese Go-Kart or Dune Buggy

What’s better than the look on a child’s face when they open the garage and see their very ownGo-Kart for the first time?

Go-Kart

Chinese Off Road Go-Karts are generally classified in four size ranges:

MINI Sized machines are the smallest we carry. These usually have 110cc or vertical 163cc / 5.5HPengines, 14” tires, a very compact frame size, and most have reverse. These are good options for the smallest of riders but don’t offer much room to grow.  (Our very petite5 year old girl drives one of these) this is a very small kart.

MID Sized machines are the next size up. These generally have 110cc or vertical 196cc / 6.5HP engines, 16” tires, and are a bit larger than the MINI’s. Most models also have reverse. This is a very good starting point for most kids between 7 and 11 years old. (The MID Size is hands down our biggest seller)

INTERMEDIATE Sized Karts are 3rd in line. They generally have 150cc engines or bigger, 18" + tires, and are slightly smaller than a full sized unit. This is a great size for smaller parents that want to ride along with their child or have taller kids that require a bit more leg room. It may be a tight fit for larger adults in this size.

FULL Sized Karts are the largest units we offer and are actually more along the lines of a smaller Dune Buggy. These generally use the proven GY6 150cc engines but are also offered with 200cc and 300cc engine options. These units can easily fit and carry the weight of 2adult sized drivers but offer a good amount of seat adjustability for younger tween and teenage drivers. These are also great if mom and dad want to ride along or drive around with there younger kids. Most have 20" tall tires, are fully automatic, and have reverse.

Note: The real key tofitting your child for theproper sized Go Kart is all about PEDAL DISTANCE.

How to measure: Place your child up against the wall with their legs straight out in front of them. Now have them pick their knees up a bit and find a comfortable seating position. Once comfortable (With a tape measure) Measure the distance from the wall to the flats of their feet as if they were stepping on imaginary pedals. That's all there is to it, now compare those measurements with the Pedal Distance specifications for each machine offered.
